Royal Quays, North Shields, North Tyneside – a great place to invest

Can you imagine living – or owning – somewhere which isn’t far from a magnificent Marina, great transport links, a whole host of shops, restaurants, bars and childrens’ activities, as well as the knowing your property is in an area steeped in history – all on your doorstep?

Then we can help you realise that dream.

If you are looking to invest in the North Shields, North Tyneside area, then you may wish to consider The Royal Quays. In our opinion, it is a superb location to invest for all the above reasons, and more … and here is why.

Great transport links, shops and opportunities

Royal Quays is an area of North Shields, North Tyneside, and is on the site of former docks, containing the pre-existing North Shields International Ferry Terminal which sails to the Baltics, Holland and Iceland among many other destinations).

Since 1990 the area was re-branded Royal Quays and redeveloped with housing, a shopping centre, a water park known as Wet n Wild, a bowling alley and other retail outlets.

The North Shields Royal Quays Outlet has a village setting and is home to around fifty great brands to meet every family’s needs.

Buy now to enjoy lower house prices

  • In 2015, Royal Quays - which is mainly made up of flats, some overlooking the Marina – had an overall average price of £106,327.
  • This was cheaper than nearby North Shields (£170,986), South Shields (£135,280), and Tynemouth (£268,254).

It also experienced a 5% price drop year on year compared to 2014, which is good news if you are looking to nab yourself a bargain – before prices start to rise again.

And we believe they will, with more businesses coming in to the area (two trampoline parks are opening this year and in March we saw the arrival of its first fashion department store – Quay Concessions) – and the area is expanding, which will help its economy.

Currently there are in excess of 1,000 residential properties on the Royal Quays site.  Work is due to commence on the adjoining Smiths Dock development soon, meaning some 700 - 800 homes in the area and providing improvements to transport links.
